FRM Awards Night

This evening we had an award's night at university and a chance to show all of our work to friend's and family. It was nice to show all of my work displayed to my Dad and to show him how much I have progressed over the 3 years at University.

I came Runner-Up for the Harvey Nichols Award and received a bottle of champagne and certificate. I am very proud of this and will be adding it to my CV and portfolio.

Final Work Exhibition

We displayed our final work for exhibition, 3 posters, one large 2 smaller either side and the shelf was free reign. I kept to my sustainable theme and used an old vintage suitcase cut in half, I used all recycled boxes and paper inside to display my work on.
I am really pleased with the whole look of my display and thinks it presents my work perfectly.
A downfall was- I was meant to have my video on display on my stand using a mini dvd player, but unfortunately never received this in the post.

Graduate Fashion Week

This is my work on display at Graduate Fashion Week. At GFW I had interest from Project Manager at LCF Sunstainability Centre a lady called Cara. She has asked me to submit my work to a Sustainability fashion award which is being judged in July. The winner will receive £1000 plus a chance to showcase their work at a Gallery in London. She has also said my work would be perfect to continue with a MA in Fashion and the environment. This is something I am definitely considering next year, Cara also said there are scholarship places for the course in which my work has a very strong chance if being put forward for it.
I also had the chance to look at the George at Asda stand where they were recruiting. I spoke to a lady about a Trend Assistant role, she took my details and said she will be in touch within the next month.

Back to AP!

After completing a 6 week work placement in 2nd year I was determined to go back, I thoroughly enjoyed the job role and knew it was something I want to do. I have asked to go back and do a day or two a week with them at head office and Emily replied saying she would love to have me back. As of July I will be doing a day or two with AP and the rest at Topshop in Birmingham. I am extremely lucky to be doing both and for both jobs to be flexible around me.

Showcasing work at Material Lab

One of the main inspiration points for my dissertation was Material Lab in London. Throughout the year I gained good contact with the Studio Manager at Material Lab- Tenesha Willoughby. In a talk with her early on in the year she said once my work was finished I could showcase it in Material Lab for a few weeks. Material Lab is mentioned in my dissertation a few times, I feel privileged to be displaying my work in somewhere I find one of the most inspirational businesses in the UK.

VMH Final Work

I created my virtual studio on Google Sketch Up, this allowed me to render the photos to look more realistic and also to created a 360 tour of the studios which really helped me visually get across my idea and look of the studio.

Google Sketch Up was one of the hardest programs I have ever used, but I know it will come in use to me when designing VM windows, displays and 3D visuals.
